A Message from Timothy J. DeGeeter
President, Parma Bar Association, 2007-2008
Welcome to the Parma Bar Association’s website. It is an honor and a
privilege to have been elected President of the bar for the 2007-2008
year. It has been a pleasure to work with such dedicated attorneys
involved with the Parma bar in past years. This year I hope to increase
membership, to promote awareness, and to include a service project for
the membership.
This website was designed to help serve both the legal professional
community and the general community. On behalf of the Parma Bar
Association, we hope this site provides you with helpful and educational
information.
The Parma Bar Association was originally established on President
Abraham Lincoln’s birthday on February 12, 1963. Our main goal is to
inform all citizens of their legal rights and responsibilities, along
with improving principles of the legal profession and continuing legal
education. The Parma Bar also aims at providing supplemental information
to the public on retaining counsel.
The vision of the Parma Bar Association is that all people shall have
access to and full benefit of the rule of law and the system of justice.
Our goal is to assist members to provide excellent legal services to the
community in an ethical, professional and civil manner by fostering the
highest ideals of integrity and competence with the highest standards of
conduct and civility.
Our members implement dedication and responsibility to the community by
offering legal aid and assistance holding only to the highest of
standards. As both an elected official and a local practicing attorney,
I have been privileged to personally associate myself with many members
of the Parma Bar Association. These members are qualified, respected
attorneys who view their professions as a necessary means to extend
equality and fairness for the common good.
The Parma Bar Association has served the residents of the Parma Court
District for 44 years. The Association has been successful in extending
support through its programs and services. The Bar always welcomes
suggestions and comments, relating to the development and progression of
the law.
Please return to this site regularly for any updates. Any and all
suggestions are encouraged and welcomed.
If I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
